Youth Cricket Gets a Boost

A varied group of new and young players were attracted to the Mortimer West End Cricket Club Colts Day in 2006, many trying their hand at the game for the first time. With coaching provided by the Clubs own qualified coaches, a mixed group of juniors were able to bat and bowl in the nets and were encouraged to try every discipline of the game. The afternoon culminated in a Kwik Cricket on the main square, which allowed everyone to be involved. The club doesn't yet have a complete girls team but the there is potential there for the future!

The Colts are now currently practicing to further their skills and to develop the Under 11 and Under 13 teams for this season.

Colts nets are now held on Thursday Evenings 6.15 - 8.00pm at the Club
