cricket is alive and kicking at this thriving
local club.
With
2 Berkshire League teams (Premier and Division
3) on Saturdays, and a strong Sunday side,
there is enthusiastic family support and
facilities for children to make the most
of their summer weekend afternoons.
The
Colts Section (Under 11's, 13's and 15's)
get plenty of opportunity to develop their
skills with fully qualified ECB coaches.
Our
aim is to cater for cricketers of all ages
and abilities, and to compliment that with

BUT THIS WILL BE AMEMDED SHORTLY
Sunday
25th November , 2007 12 - 4pm.
PAINTBALL
This was suggested by Steve Honour, and
I know that a few others have asked about
this too. Have investigated a few local
companies. I have made a provisional booking
at one near Newbury which is called http://www.goballistic.co.uk.
This would work out around £20 per
person for a 1/2 day including 300 paint
balls. Colts are invited but (by law) must
be over the age of 12 . Please contact me
if you are interested in attending, so I
can assess numbers. Need a minimum of 12
people
Friday
30th November - Golf
Day.
Golf:
Friday 30th November, 2007 10am
This has been kindly organised by Chris
Sellers. The venue is Blue Mountain [the
same venue as last year). Meet 10 am for
coffee and bacon rolls,18 holes of golf
and lunch. The price is a little higher than
last time at £30.45 per person but
still reasonable. Also they are throwing
in free prizes for nearest the pin and longest
drive plus some free vouchers for rounds
of golf. The initial booking is 12, but
we can modify that up to the last couple
of days. They will require a deposite of
£10 pounds per person as soon as we
can. Please contact Chris Sellers directly
if you are interested Sellers630@aol.com
or 0118 983 5844, or let me know and I will
pass on the message.
.
Please reply as soon
as possible about the above events. The
rest of the information below is around
planned events for next year.
10 Pin Bowling : Saturday 2nd February 2008
7pm (provisional)
10 pin bowling - open to everyone - adults,
colts, parents (instead of doing separate
bowling for colts and skittles for adults)
Venue likely to be Wokingham , with a curry
afterwards for those interested.
Other Events
Details to be provided closer to the time
about other events such as the pre-season
dinner, which will probably take place in
April to coincide with the work party weekend.
Also - it is likely that we will have the
ball at the end of the season again, as
this seemed to work well for most people.
A provisional date of 20th September has
been booked.

THE
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING TOOK PLACE IN THE
PAVILION ON SUNDAY EVENING(7th Oct). Thanks
to all those who attended. Some lively debate
followed annual reports from The Chairman,
Treasurer, Fixture Secretary, Social Secretary
and the Team Captains. The main changes
were: 1.The appointment of a Bar Manager
(Marina Shapton), which is now a separate
role from the Treasurer, which left a space
for a new Secretary, which is yet to be
announced.
2.
The increase in Annual Subscriptions from
£55 to £60 per annum. This was
debated and passed by the floor. The main
point being that the cost of pre-season
nets could be met by all members and not
just those who make the effort to attend.
Hopefully this will encourage a higher attendance,
which can only help the club improve our
general performance.
Hopefully
the minutes, when available , will be published
on the News Page.

is very proud of it's facilities. The pavilion
has been redecorated and refurbished in the
close season and provides changing and shower
rooms for both home and visiting teams. The
comfortably furnished lounge creates a safe
play area for children, and refreshments are
available from the well equipped bar or kitchen.
The kitchen also provides traditional cricket
teas, and summer barbeques by prior arrangement.
